I don’t know about you, but I sure love a good brunch. But with new brunch spots opening up all the time, it can be hard to know which places are the most deserving of your time and money.
I’ve rounded up the best new Salt Lake City brunch spots, just for you. Check them out and let me know what you thought!
Stratford Proper
Stratford Proper Café & Bistro comes from the creators of Avenues Proper and Proper Burger Co. Stratford Proper is already well known for its delicious brunch options. I highly recommend the breakfast burrito, filled with cheddar, eggs, cilantro, and crème fraiche. The breakfast pizza is also a standout, complete with smoked ricotta cheese, prosciutto, egg, and a basil hollandaise.
The restaurant is located in the trendy but rather quiet Stratford area of Salt Lake, and it’s very much your friendly neighborhood restaurant. It’s a great place to take some friends and enjoy your meal in their plentiful outside seating.
1588 E Stratford Ave.
Saturday and Sunday, 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Cotton Kitchen
Cotton Kitchen has an eclectic menu that truly has something for everybody. The lox benedict, complete with sourdough bread, Dijon aioli, and poached eggs, is a crowd favorite. I also recommend the brioche sammy, which comes with egg, arugula, Dijon aioli, and sharp cheddar. You can add apple chicken sausage or bacon to it, if you’d like.
The whole establishment is beautiful and clean with plenty of seating. It has a high-top community table, smaller low-top tables, and booths. Cotton Kitchen really focuses on the presentation of the food, so everything is served on lovely dishes. Also, breakfast items are served all day, so you can have that brunch whenever you wish.
3158 E 6200 S, Holladay
Daily, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The Dayroom
Em’s has been around a long time and owner and chef Emily Grassman has recently expanded it to The Dayroom right next door. You should definitely try the Rice Egg, filled with gochujang, kimchi, and fried egg. The waffle is also a treat, topped with citrus, honey yogurt, cocoa, and cardamom. And don’t forget a Green Mary to go with your meal—the vodka is from SLC’s Dented Brick Distillery.
This restaurant is in a beautiful part of town—the Avenues—so you get to enjoy some of SLC’s best scenery while you eat. The restaurant itself is light and elegant. It’s also in an actual house, so it feels perfectly homey (the best part is the original hardwood floors).
271 N Center St.
Saturday and Sunday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
London Belle Supper Club
Despite its name, the London Belle Supper Club serves a mean brunch. Try the eggs benedict, which comes with smoked ham, poached eggs, hollandaise, and potatoes. Or if you want something sweeter, you can’t go wrong with the crème brûlée french toast with fresh berries and a pomegranate glaze.
This restaurant is right near Temple Square, and it might be easy to miss, though the massive iron entrance door helps! The décor is modern and sleek and encourages you to eat, drink, and lounge with your friends. Some nights, the restaurant turns into a pretty impressive dance club.
321 S Main St.
Sunday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The Daily
Chef Ryan Lowder already had three restaurants in SLC—Copper Onion, Copper Kitchen, and Copper Commons—before opening up The Daily, which is next door to Goldman Sachs in downtown Salt Lake. The Turkish eggs, with seasoned yogurt and mint, are a bit unexpected and are always delicious. The eggs benedict is another solid choice, complete with a delicious hollandaise and homestyle fries. And everyone loves the fresh-squeezed fruit juice mimosas with their brunch meal.
The restaurant is in the heart of downtown, and it’s as trendy as you’d expect. Guests especially love the many trees and plants in the restaurant. You also have several ordering and eating options. You can order online and then pick up your order, or you can run in, grab your food, and go. It has a great view of downtown if you want to sit and enjoy your meal.
222 S Main St., Suite 140
Saturday and Sunday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
